Each year, cave12 publishes a recording from its sound archives. This album brings together two artists whose concerts took place a few months apart. This edition has chosen to juxtapose their performances which strangely respond to each other putting them into perspective as if by a mirroring effect activated by our memory.

Gaute Granli

Out there Norwegian guitarist-performer-singer, Gaute Granli, a true prodigy of (de)structured psychedelic song that we have been following since his beginnings, continues his explorations of sweet madness by donning a fantastic collection of strange twisted stretched beads, filled with ghost/haunting folk music, which one has the impression of knowing from who knows where, of lyrics sung in unknown vocabularies and of pop surges deboned by a psychedelic gnome messing everything up with effects pedals. As always with Gaute Granli, everything works and magically “chaotically” holds together with this dusty melancholy of despair uncomfortably and permanently inhabiting each level of his fascinating sound universe. Contumace

Dark and dry post-industrial project of the incendiary guitarist of the abrasively cult Sister Iodine, Lionel Fernandez embarking on a static corrida with himself, made of synthetic miniatures, frequential lacerations, austere concatenations & petrified movements, all with 666 pairs of sunglasses in the land of eternal night and a result of pure social distancing, like a superbly distressing sonic shoot, a powerful ghostly Throbbing Gristelien reek. Contumace juggles by fracturing the strategies of industrial music making us traverse, stage after stage, the circles of contemporary hell, a deleterious hell, erasing our bearings to lose us in the harrowing solitude of machines.
